Safety

It is our job to make your riding experience with us as safe as we can. We are a licensed school through the Herefordshire Council, who annually check our horses and ponies with a full veterinary inspection, not only on our horses and ponies, but on our full range of facilities.

We regularly do risk assessment analysing, striving to improve our facilities all the time. Seeking the advice of the British Society on all safety matters when we need to update.

When you arrive for your lesson you are requested to fill in a medical form in the case of an emergency of any kind so that we can assist you in the best possible way. My staff and I are fully trained in First Aid should you need our help.

Safety hats, of the up-to-date Horse Society Standard, are provided along with long and short riding boots in most sizes, for extra safety. We recommend that you wear tight fitting, long trousers and long sleeve shirt and bring along a coat just in case the weather changes. Gloves with grips can be a great help to hold the reins, we can provide coats and gloves if you forget. If you have long hair you need to tie it back.

We need to know your weight and riding experience so we can provide the right horse or pony for you. This information is on your medical form to fill in. For more detailed information on the issues of riding and safety please look at the British Horse Society website.
